Chelsea are facing competition from a host of top European clubs for Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches, according to the youngster’s agent.

The 22-year-old is reportedly also being tracked by AC Milan, Real Madrid and Zenit St Petersburg, while Barcelona have also been linked with an £8m move for the Romanian international centre-back.

Chiriches’ representative Ioan Becali says any club wanting to sign his client will have to pay an intsallment this winter before completing the deal next summer.

“Milan scouts are convinced that he is a good player, and they are likely to come back to see him,” Becali is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

“The player is also liked by Zenit and Real Madrid. Whoever wants to take him must put down an instalment during the winter and pay the remainder next summer.”
