Redknapp not interested in Blackburn role.

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has distanced himself from growing speculation that he is interested in the vacant manager’s job at Blackburn Rovers.

The Championship leaders are in need of a new boss after Steve Kean quit Ewood Park in September but have failed in approaches for Tottenham technical coordinator Tim Sherwood and Fulham coach Billy McKinlay.

“I haven’t met anyone from Blackburn and have no plans to,” the former Tottenham boss told BBC Sport.

“As far as I am concerned there is nothing in it. It’s as simple as that.”

The club have interviewed Henning Berg, who enjoyed two spells at Ewood Park as a player, while Blackpool boss Ian Holloway remains under consideration.

Reports in Tuesday’s tabloid media also suggested that Rovers have approached a Argentine legend Diego Maradona about taking over as boss.
