Rodgers could sell three to fund January spending.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to sell two more of Kenny Dalglish’s flops as he looks to boost the club’s January transfer kitty, reports CaughtOffside.
Rodgers is ready to offload Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson - both signed at considerable expense by predecessor Dalglish - as well as former Chelsea star Joe Cole
The Northern Irishman has already sold Charlie Adam and loaned out Andy Carroll, both signed by the Scot.
Downing scored a belter in Liverpool’s 1-0 Europa league win over Anzhi on Thursday but has faced public criticism from Rodgers this term and was back on the bench for Sunday’s Merseyside derby.
The England winger has fallen behind teenagers Raheem Sterling and Suso in the pecking order and is reportedly available for just £10m - half of what Dalglish paid Aston Villa for him.
Henderson, meanwhile, a £17m signing from Sunderland, has also played a bit part role under Rodgers, not starting a single Premier League game so far this season.
The midfielder, who was a surprise inclusion in England’s Euro 2012 squad, will also be allowed to leave on the cheap.
Finally Cole, signed on a free by Roy Hodgson, is also set to depart in January.
The former England playmaker initially looked set to be given a chance under Rodgers but has struggled with injury so far this season.
